Below you can see a list of certification and independent test reports from world-renowned laboratories and test centres in Europe and the US.
EU type-examination certificate EN 149:2001+A1:2009 FFP2
Independent European certification certifying the RespiPro VK as Category III personal protective equipment (PPE), providing respiratory system protection under EN 149:2001+A1:2009 class FFP2 NR. This widely recognised standard is the benchmark for certified PPE in the UK and across Europe.
Viral Filtration Efficiency (VFE) Test Report
The VFE test was performed by the world-renowned Nelson Laboratories (U.S.A.) to determine the filtration efficiency of the RESPILON nanofibre filter specifically against viruses. >99% filtration was confirmed as a result.
Nelson Labs Virucidal Screening Test against Coronaviruses
A virucidal Screening Test to determine the virucidal effectiveness against human coronaviruses over the course of 5 minutes, from exposure to neutralisation.
ACu Copper Measurement Report-EN-201015
Performed by the Institute of Chemical Process Fundamentals, this test and the resulting report confirms that 100% of the ACu copper elements are safely contained within the VK mask materials, and are never released during use.
ACu Test Report - General Virucidal and Bactericidal Test Report
Testing completed by the National Institute for Nuclear Chemical and Biological Protection in Brno, Czech Republic. Testing the virucidal and bactericidal effectiveness of the ACu copper against a variety of common pathogens including Influenza and streptococcus agalactiae.
EN ISO 10993 - Assessing Cytotoxicity, Skin Irritability and Sensibilisation
This test was completed by The National Institute of Public Health and is designed to ensure a patient will not develop a reaction with repeated exposure to a medical device.
EC Declaration of Conformity
The EC declaration of Conformity is a declaration of conformity is issued by the manufacturer of the product (RESPILON). It confirms that the product has been assessed to be in conformity with relevant standards and laws, is safe and used in compliance with the listed recommendations, standards, and laws.
The combination of two unique features: filtration for pathogens and the ability to kill them, makes the RespiPro® VK ideal PPE for infection control purposes in professional and every day situations. Manufactured in Europe, the RespiPro® VK holds specific European test certificates against human coronaviruses, as well being proven effective against other common bacteria and viruses. The reusable RespiPro® VK can dramatically reduce turnover of masks, which also lowers costs and the environmental impact of daily mask use.
Thanks to a patented accelerated copper technology that destroys viruses and bacteria, the RespiPro® VK can be used repeatedly over a 30 hour period provided it still fits perfectly and shows no signs of wear. The usage time of 30 hours can be split over multiple uses: you could wear the mask for 6 hours a day Mon-Fri without the risk of viral cross contamination in the filter. Diligent mask handling is still required at all times.
The filtration abilities and self-sterilisation of the mask have no expiration date.
Independent lab testing has proven that no copper particles are released during mask use - the patented copper technology is not a coating, but rather integrated into the mask material itself.
Most FFP2/FFP3 masks (those considered effective at protecting the wearer from viral transmission) can lose up to 60% filtration ability after 30mins use due to humidity from the wearers breath. The nanofibre filter in every RESPILON® respirator is not effected by humidity and filtration can actually get more efficient the longer the mask is used (from a 99% starting point).
The RespiPro® has an advanced "C-shape" 3D design combined with the flexibility and lighter weight of nanofibre. The shape conforms to the contours of the face to offer an advantage over other more rigid respirators in terms of achieving a secure and comfortable face fit. The variable sizes (M&L) and the optional head strap clip to secure the straps around the head, mean that any adult can achieve a secure fit. In general, Medium is best for small adults and Large is best for average and large adults.
Whether you use the ear loops alone or secure the mask using the straps around the back of your head comes down to your individual face fit and comfort. If using the RespiPro® VK casually then the ear loops may be more convenient and if the fit is good you will be protected. If you need the mask to remain fully in place for a long period without having to touch it, securing the super-soft straps around your head with the clip may offer the best solution.
